Catholic Chaplaincy and Student Centre
Our door is open to all students
Wherever you are on your faith journey we are here to help you explore, develop and deepen your faith. We have a weekly programme that we hope offers something for everyone. There are opportunities for prayer, bible study, faith sharing and reflection. We encourage you to drop in on any of our activities and see what feeds, sustains and challenges you. In particular we invite you to our 11am Sunday Mass. You will find some or all of the following activities at More House this Academic Year:
11am Sunday Mass
We hope that you will make the 11am Sunday Mass your home. We have a great tradition of music from our student choir and musicians. If you'd like to join them come along to the practice before Mass. We always welcome new readers, altar servers, and Eucharistic Ministers so please make yourself known. Every month we also have a Mass on a weekday evening.
All are welcome to this time of prayer and reflection in the presence of our Lord.
Join a group of students who pray the Rosary every week.
Silence. Stillness. Simplicity. A group meets weekly to meditate in the way taught by the World Community of Christian Meditation which was founded by John Main a Benedictine monk. If you are looking for a contemplative sacred space in your life this is for you.
We study the bible to understand the contexts of the ancient communities from which its books emerged , and to explore the meanings we find that apply to our own lives, as we are spoken to through the texts.
Christian Life Community (CLC)
A group of 8 - 10 students who meet fortnightly for prayer, reflection, sharing, laughter, friendship. It's a place for deeper conversations then your everyday, and a way of finding God in all things.
Half an hour of singing, prayer and readings in candlelight. "It is a time to rest in God, to let the words listened to and sung penetrate one's being" (Br. John, Taize)
