Student Commitment

Students who live at More House commit to creating a caring and welcoming community in many different ways which includes performing some house duties.

About once a term you will carry out bar, lodge and bar supper duties.
This is a way of getting to know other students and of participating in the life of the house.

Bar duty

Serving drinks and snacks in the More House bar on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.
The bar is a place where residents and non-residents can relax, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks available at very reasonable prices. A table tennis table, pool table, dart board and other games are available. The bar is also used for parties and live music events.

Lodge duty

Answering the telephone and opening the door to visitors from 6.25pm to 11pm.

Bar Supper

On Sunday afternoon a group of students cook a meal for the other residents and visitors. All are welcome at 7pm for the supper. There is a small charge.
